TyriqueOrDie is a Toronto-based artist and performer emerging from the city’s underground rave circuit. Raised in Galloway, a housing project in Scarborough, his foundation in hip hop collided with the energy of Toronto’s warehouse and DIY party scene, shaping an artist whose music moves instinctively between rap and the dancefloor.
That collision broke through with 2022’s “Toronto Funhouse,” a hometown anthem that spread organically through Toronto’s nightlife community and introduced the high-energy sound that has become his signature. Since then, TyriqueOrDie has continued to expand his range, drawing from house, drum and bass and hip hop without settling neatly into any one genre.
At his core, TyriqueOrDie is a performer. His immersive, unpredictable live sets have built a dedicated following through word of mouth and a deep connection to Toronto’s underground. He also co-founded Toronto Hardcore, a community-driven movement helping shape a new wave of experimental nightlife in the city, including its infamous 2022 Christie Pits rave.
After building his name independently, TyriqueOrDie signed with Universal Music Canada to expand a vision already firmly in motion. His new six-track EP, This Feels Electric, brings that vision into its clearest focus yet, weaving nightlife, escapism and illusion through a surreal “Funhouse” world while showcasing both his club-driven energy and some of his sharpest rap performances to date. The project establishes TyriqueOrDie as one of the few Canadian artists genuinely operating at the intersection of rap, electronic music and alternative culture.
